1. Open the workout builder
Log in to the Funxtion CMS.
Go to Workouts and select New Workout.
Use New Workout to create a workout for an FXGYM single-screen setup. For an FXGYM Multiscreen workout, use New Multiscreen instead.
Make sure you select the correct workout builder before creating the workout.
2. Basic workout details
Use a clear workout name that is easy to recognise in the CMS.
Complete the basic details such as:

Created by
-
Body parts
-
Fitness Category
-
Fitness Type
The Body parts field helps identify the main training focus, for example full body, upper body, lower body or core.
3. Fitness Category
Choose the category that best matches the main purpose of the workout.
- Cardio — endurance or heart-rate focused workouts
- Bodyweight — workouts mainly using bodyweight exercises
- Strength — resistance or strength-focused workouts
- Boxing — boxing-based sessions
- Mobility — mobility or flexibility sessions
- Funxtional — functional training formats
- Hyrox — Hyrox-specific or Hyrox-style workouts
Best practice: choose the category based on the main focus of the workout, not on a small secondary element.
4. Fitness Type
Choose the type that best describes the workout focus.
- HIIT — interval-based sessions
- Cardio — endurance-based sessions
- Booty — glute-focused workouts
- Core — core-focused sessions
- Stretching — flexibility or recovery sessions
5. Workout Type
The Workout Type defines how the workout runs in the player.
- RFT — rounds for time: Add the exercises and set the number of rounds.
- AMRAP — as many rounds or reps as possible: Add the exercises and set the total workout duration.
- Circuit — exercises performed in sequence: Add the exercises and configure the work and rest times. Add or duplicate rounds when required.
Before saving, check the exercise order, rounds and timing.
6. Description fields

There are two description fields:
Description
This field is for internal information only.
It is not visible on the FXGYM.
Use it for internal notes, setup details or content remarks.
External description
This field is visible on the FXGYM.
Use it for a short customer-facing description of the workout. Keep it clear and practical.
Example:
A full-body HIIT workout focused on cardio, strength and functional movement.
7. Warming up and cooling down
Warm-ups and cool-downs must be created separately before they can be added to a workout.
To create one:
- Go to Workouts > New warming up / cooling down.
- Enter a name and select the type.
- Add the exercises and configure the timing.
- Select Save.
To add it to the workout, select + Add warming up or + Add cooling down and choose the required item.
Existing items can be edited, duplicated or deleted via Workouts > Warming up / cooling down list.
8. Final check
Before saving, check that:

the category and type match the workout

the workout type matches the intended player format

the external description is suitable for customers

the workout is assigned to the correct location
-
warming up and cooling down are linked if needed

the workout is set to active if it should be available
Click Save to create the workout.
